Krueger Architects has been awarded three ArCHdes Awards for Design Excellence for 2019 from Architect’s Creating Homes (ArCH). The three projects that were selected are: one new home built on a double lot and two whole house, major renovations. The awards are presented annually to Architects and Designers and are voted on by fellow Architects. ArCH is an international organization of licensed architects focusing on residential architecture, professional excellence, achievement, client value, and service.
Benedict Canyon Renovation
The Benedict Canyon project was a major renovation of a 1950’s mid-century style home in Beverly Hills in the secluded Benedict Canyon neighborhood. The renovation completely changed the exterior look of the home with a new wing to the home with a private master suite, lounge, and luxury bathroom added over the garage. The interior space was transformed. An open dining room, living room, family room, and kitchen are sleek and modern. A new stairwell to the second story perfectly connects the two spaces and is of itself, a focal point. Warm wood tones and high style details define this homes transformation.

Hillcrest, Beverly Hills Historic Home Restoration
History, glamour, and old Hollywood. Krueger Architects was brought in to renovate the iconic Hillcrest Estate in Beverly Hills home. The home was originally built for silent film start Hobart Bosworth and his wife. Hollywood icon William Powell then purchased the home and contracted legendary architect James E. Dolena to transform the home into the Hollywood Regency style is exemplifies today. Albert Broccoli, the original producer of the James Bond films, and his wife Dana, lived in the home from 1969 to James’ death in 1996. Dana Broccoli sold the estate in 2004.

Sycamore Residence New Construction
The Sycamore residence, is a grand revision for what was once two separate homes on two lots in Los Angeles. A brand new construction, large-scale, single family home was built in place. The home was designed in the Newport style of New England and fit perfectly on this new combined lot with an old growth Sycamore tree in the front yard. Details of a New England style home meant clad siding, varying roof lines and peaks to accommodate porches, and craftsman details in the woodwork and trim, such as corbels, arches, and flutes. All of the traditional details of this home are then juxtaposed with modern touches such as black trim and black windows and doors.
